“The only way to survive in ministry is to steadfastly refuse to be interested in ministry and to be interested only in Jesus Christ.” – Oswald Chambers
Do you love Jesus? I expect your answer is a resounding “Yes!” So let your heart be strengthened and encouraged by these words of love from the Father’s heart to yours:
“Dear one, because you love my son Jesus, I love you and Jesus also loves you and he will show himself to you . . . I love you and Jesus, and I have come to you to make our home with you . . . So know that I, your Father in heaven, myself, love you because you love Jesus and believe that he came from me.” (John 14:21, 23; 16:27).
If you are feeling discouraged today, let these words from our heavenly Father pour over you like a healing balm. Go back and read His words again, slowly, perhaps even out loud to yourself, and hear . . . LISTEN TO . . . God love you just because of who you are to Him.
“Do not be dismayed.” As Mother Teresa writes:
“Don’t give in to discouragement. No more must you do so when you try to settle a marriage crisis or convert a sinner and don’t succeed. If you are discouraged, it is a sign of pride because it shows you trust in your own powers. Never bother about people’s opinions. Be humble and you will never be disturbed. It is very difficult in practice because we all want to see the result of our work. Leave it to Jesus.” – Mother Teresa, Total Surrender
And hear these words from Jesus through the author Sarah young:
“Strive to trust Me (Jesus) in more and more areas of your life. Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity. Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties.” – Sarah Young, Jesus Calling
Lord, thank you so much for the love and encouragement we receive from your people every day. Thank you for encouraging us and loving us through them. Thank you for their delight to see us, for their hugs and smiles and kind words.
“My child, if they, how much more am I excited for you and for what I have commissioned you to do. I am so pleased with what you are doing and the way you are doing it. I love your heart son. Stay close to me and I will direct your paths. I love you . . . ”
