God’s Love

God’s love for us goes beyond words. After all, “God is love” (1 John 4:16). He is the fullest embodiment and expression of love that we will ever know. To capture this in any one language is impossible. However, God himself has revealed to us through his Word various characteristics of his love. May this help us all better comprehend how vast and immeasurable his love is for all his children…

“‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10; see also Psalm 36; Psalm 51:1; Psalm 69:11)
Definition: inexhaustible; constant
Synonyms: infallible, certain, sure, perfect, unchanging, dependable, persistent, trustworthy
Antonyms: fallible, not reliable, misleading, disappoint, doubtful, wavering

“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.’” (Jeremiah 31:3; see also Psalm 103)
Definition: lasting forever; continuing indefinitely; eternal duration
Synonyms: endless, permanent, limitless, perpetual, lasting, infinite

Definition: of estimable worth; invaluable
