Everyone needs to be loved. Just as our body needs food, water, rest and exercise to be healthy, and never matures out of those needs, so our spirit/soul needs to be loved in order to be healthy (i.e., secure, at peace, joyful) and it never matures out of that need. God knows that and wants our souls to “Taste and see that He is good” (Ps. 34:8) and to experience his love that is “better than life” so that our “souls are satisfied as with the richest of foods” (1 Pt. 2:3). Moses prayed that God would: “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days” (Ps. 90:14).

Our First Loved 2-day weekend events begin on a Friday evening from 6:30-10:00pm and continues the next day (Saturday) from 8:30am-5:30pm for a day and a half of experiencing God’s love, primarily focusing on hearing and being receptive to His love for us AND HOW HE LOVES US through personalized scripture. You’ll experience this through worship, teaching, alone time, and small group time. This weekend provides an overview of the practices we encourage.

There are opportunities to go deeper during a First Loved weekend. These retreats are more immersive in three primary practices (Love Verses, The Measuring Stick, and God Sightings), provide deeper interaction with trained facilitators, and offer a more relaxed environment to linger in the Lord’s Presence and Love. Our hope is that a First Loved experience will help you internalize these transformative practices and nurture your quiet time at home and with others.

Our 3-day “First Loved to Love” Retreat provides an immersive experience bathed in God’s love, quieting all life’s distractions in order to practice being loved. In addition to the Love Verse and God-sighting practices, this weekend provides an additional session that helps to expose and begin to remove a common barrier to receiving God’s love – our shame! It also provides deeper interaction with our trained facilitators and offers a more relaxed environment to linger in the Lord’s presence and love, and with one another.
